The USA has a large number of car owners and the network of roads across the country is humongous. Not just every state in the country, but every city in the country has roads that drivers will enjoy driving through. The highways connecting these cities will give you something different to look at. Also, you will either be driving through a crowded city or through large empty spaces, whether mountains, deserts, or forests.

Suggested Highways

If you ask anyone if they prefer roads with traffic on them or open roads, 99 percent will list empty roads as their preference. This will also allow them to drive faster while making sure that they do this without any accidents. No driver likes barriers on the way and roads with no one in sight for miles, will certainly make life more fun for them. Here we list some routes that you will enjoy taking your vehicles over.

The Overseas Highway in Florida

The Florida Keys are coral islands in the Gulf of Mexico, some large in size. Here you will find a large highway that connects the major ones among these through tens of bridges. This highway starts in Florida City and Ends in Key West. Here you will get to see amazing views on both sides of the highway, with the sea as far as you can see. You will also get to see small coral reefs, the largest in this part of the world. You will enjoy the cool sea breeze at all times of the day, though you should check out the weather forecast to make sure that there are no rains to hamper your views.

The Pacific Coast Highway in California

This highway is part of State Route 1 in California, the second longest in the whole of USA. As the name suggests it runs parallel to the Pacific Ocean coast, starting in San Francisco and ending in San Diego on the Mexican border. You will be crossing several bridges and there will be green hills on one side for part of the route. On the way, there will be small towns with accommodations and eateries, so you can stop here for as long as you may want to. If you drive nonstop, which will be rare, you can cover the entire distance of the highway in 10 hours, one-way.

This 77-kilometer-long road starts in Estes Park and ends at Grand Lake, along the way giving you views of the cowboy lifestyle of the people involved in ranch activities with their horses. For most of the drive, you will have mountains on both sides of your vehicle, you will even be driving up some and you will get to drive alongside water bodies like rivers too. If you enjoy quiet places, this destination will be perfect for you.

On the way you can stop at one of the waterfalls for a swim or you can keep enjoying the forests you are passing through. For part of the route you will even have the Pacific Ocean on one side. As you will be away from the mainland, you can rent a vehicle that you are comfortable driving.

Red Rock Scenic Byway in Arizona

This is an All-American Road passing through the Coconino National Forest, with amazing views of Red rock formations. In the winter the road gets covered with snow, so try coming in warmer weather for a road trip here. This road is mostly on mountains, so you will have to take care as you drive through it. The road needs repairs from time to time, mostly due to the wrath of nature, so check out if this may slow down your progress here. You may get to see goats and sheep on the way, though you should beware of grizzly bears. As you drive here you will see glorious views of mountains with greenery, lakes, and waterfalls.
