If you enjoy country music, you will be familiar with the name of this city in the southeastern state of Tennessee. It has a large population which includes a significant population of students from within the state and beyond. So, you can expect to have some youngsters to accompany you when you come to join music concerts here at the large stadiums or amphitheaters. This city is based around the Cumberland River, which allowed good opportunities for farming and you will find a lot of people with cowboy hats as you walk through the streets of the city. Now there is an impressive skyline next to this river and scenic bridges to cross it.
The home of country music
Some believe that this city was where country music was born, though what is known is that this is the place where recordings of this genre of music began and it now has large production houses for it. There are theaters, auditoriums, and clubs where you can enjoy musicians, new and old, ply their trade. There are plenty of options and different ways to enjoy the performances, so you can choose to sip your beer while listening or you can sit or stand as the singers sing with those on instruments churning out impressive sounds. There are radio broadcasts for the music that have continued for almost a century and you can see the broadcasting station.
Records of all kinds
Whether you are a teenager interested in music or a grandparent fan of bands that have long retired, you will want to know more or everything about country music. For this, you will need to catch flights to Nashville, which has kept records of the popular artists of the past in one form or another. There are tours that will take you to the homes of the old musicians and the current ones, mansions with gardens, to see what inspired them. Then there are a few museums where you will find all the information that you may need about famous country musicians of the past.
Fitting it all in a day
A lot of tourists come here for a day break, usually on the weekends, so they will want to see and do as much as they can in a day. This city has good transport, but here are some transport options meant particularly for the visitors coming here. There is the trolley tour that will take you to the major landmarks in the city and you can get down where you find something that interests you and catch the following trolley to move on. Then there are the sing-along tours, where you will be taken to and described the places important to the music industry here. If you enjoy physical activities, there are bikes available for rent to take you anywhere in the city and you can use map apps for this. The smell of whiskey
This city and the state are famous for the various distilleries offering world-famous whiskeys like Jack Daniels. Now once you are here you cannot go back without trying one of these at the bars or pubs here, some lined up one against another on popular streets. You can even travel to the distilleries where you will see how your favorite drink is produced, including tastings with lunch or dinner. This city is where the hot chicken was invented and in this case, hot means that it is very spicy. You will find a lot of barbecue restaurants offering grilled meat including seafood.
Beyond the city confines
If you have always wanted to see a cowboy ranch, there are a few here that will allow you to try horse riding during the day and sit next to campfires at night. Then there are the lakes for kayaking and waterfalls close to the city, making for a perfect outing. Then there is the Radnor Lake State Park, where you can go hiking for the best part of a day. You can even try the zip-lining adventures in the nearby forests. You will even get to see the country estates where wealthy families lived a century ago.
One trip will never be enough
Though this city has been made popular by country music, you will find many other forms of music like rock and blues at the various establishments, small and large. You can even join dancing classes to learn ballroom dancing or ballet. There are stadiums for major sports and supporters of teams from different states come here to support their team. If you still have time, you can go to see the Parthenon, for those who enjoy Greek architecture.
